Have you ever tried to gather and connect broken pieces of a favorite vase? The project is nearly impossible. If you are fortunate enough to find all the pieces, putting them together in the original places is doubtful. Cracks and jagged pieces will be visible even after repairs. Our lives and relationships also shatter. Can the bits and pieces ever be put together again?
The Creator of prized earthly vessels believes it is worth the effort. "Not only that, but all the broken and dislocated pieces of the universe-people and things, animals and atoms-get properly fixed and fit together in vibrant harmonies, all because of his death, his blood that poured down from the Cross (Colossians 1:19-20 The Message)." The church is made up of broken bits and pieces forming a mosaic cross. It is held up to the light to reveal a flawless love.
