Wishin' and Hopin'
by Pam Ford Davis 6/23/2010 / Devotionals
Make a wish. I remember closing my eyes, making a wish, taking a big breath and blowing out the candles on birthday cakes. How could I forget the thrill of carefully pulling a wishbone from fried chicken while wishin' and hopin' for a secret wish? I selfishly asked for something to make me happy.
It goes against human nature to wish good things for those who hurt us. As Christians we can go beyond natural feelings and accomplish unexpected results. 'Wish good for those who do bad things to you. Wish them well and do not curse them (Romans 12:14 NCV)." The Golden Rule never goes out of style. Enemies become a mission field when prayer requests become hope for blessings and wishes that come true!
