Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me
by PamFord Davis
6/24/2010 / Devotionals
Hindsight is magnified vision with experience as our great teacher. Reality that we once found difficult to swallow mellows us, resulting in maturity and wisdom. It is easier to convince others of the benefits of suffering than ourselves. How can anything produce both pain and pleasure?
I would much prefer avoiding trials, troubles and afflictions. A chosen few truly recognize golden nuggets in each test of our faith. "It was good for me to be afflicted so that I could learn Your statutes. Instruction from your lips is better for me than thousands of gold and silver pieces (Psalm 119:71-72 HCS)." The best thing that ever happened to me came through painful conviction of sins. Inner sorrow led to joy unspeakable!
