We can easily overlook a person's facial characteristics. Law officers question witnesses at the scene of a crime and get conflicting descriptions of those involved. We don't even always notice all details on those we know well. I remember that when I dated my husband he made a comment about green eyes. My eyes are blue. I realized my green eye shadow confused him!
Moses communed with God and his face reflected God's glory. The people were afraid and he decided to cover his face in their presence. "The Israelites would see that Moses' face was shining. So he would cover his face again. He did this until the next time he went in to speak with the Lord (Exodus 34:35 NCV)." They became accustomed to seeing Moses' face covered. One day we will see Jesus face-to-face and each encounter will be as dramatic as the first!
