Cryin' Time Again

by PamFord Davis
7/01/2010 / Devotionals

Move over; I want to cry too. We do not normally think of a crying jag as a group event. Our emotional state is not contagious, or is it? Those who repress feelings might feel free to open up. If someone dares to be transparent, and weep, a hurting world will let down barriers of false security.

We rejoice with those who share good news. It may be time we join a few in their sorrow for sin. "While Ezra was down on his knees in front of God's temple, praying with tears in his eyes, and confessing the sins of the people of Israel, a large number of men, women, and children gathered around him and cried bitterly (Ezra 10:1 CEV)."

I do not cry easily. I rarely weep when I am sad. Tender moments in a movie choke me up and grieving brings uncontrolled crying and sobs. Time has come for grief over personal sin and transgressions of a rebellious generation. It's cryin' time again
