We foolishly believe if we do not openly rebel against God, that we are an active part of His kingdom. We are minding our own business, not rocking the boat, and waiting for His promised return. A person's belief is a private matter and we must not intrude.
Jesus offered a word of correction and challenge. "Anyone who isn't helping me is harming me (Matthew 12:30 The Book, Living Bible)." That puts a different slant on the subject. He wants faithful followers to help in his saving mission.
How can we help an all-sufficient God? The answer is found in prayer and sitting at his feet in scripture. He will reveal to us where and when our gifts are to be used in His service. It might even be as simple as being a good listener. We can share Jesus' compassion with those in our circle of influence. Each cry for help reaches His ears and heart; answer the call and wait for His response.
