In times of drought, we yearn for refreshing showers to renew vegetable gardens, lawns and wilting flowers. We can irrigate and spray water hoses with dedication and determination; watering will never replace rain. Man's best friend may be his loyal dog, but any farmer depends on God for needed showers.
Spiritually we pray for showers of blessings. As wandering sheep, we seek the renewal and quenching of thirst following April showers. "And I will make a peace agreement with my sheep. I will take harmful animals away from the land. Then the sheep can be safe in the desert and sleep in the woods. I will bless the sheep and the places around my hill. I will cause the rains to fall at the right time and will shower them with blessings (Ezekiel 34:25-26 ERV)." We don't need to check a barometer, instead regularly check for surprising showers in the Bible!
