Lord, when the black clouds came upon me
I couldn't find you - I was inconsolable.
I ran and looked for you, in all the dark corners of my life, but you weren't there.
In my panic, I couldn't see.
Then you came and tapped me on my shoulder, and I remembered You -
You are my sight.
Slowly, the world came right for me again, and I emerged from that beginning night,
an altered, a different person.
"Look!" You said, and You took me to the power of Your Word
which You set upon the table of the famished land.
I saw that all that time, even in the darkest moments of my journey,
I had been safe - had I but known it, Lord! As always, You keep me
Safe, within the loving harbor of Your hand ---
