Because God Said So....

Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness. (Genesis 15:6 NIV)

Beautiful One, do you know what time it is?

The world today is in turmoil. Some may say it has always been this way. As we turn the pages of time and look back, we can see that each generation had its own challenges and tragedies. But, the world as we know it today, is definitely trembling with magnitude proportions.

We have no peace in the Middle East, there are several countries where sickness and starvation abound. Across the seas we have persecution of women, child sex slavery is rampant, and genocides are still occurring every single day.

Right here in our own backyard, we have recessions, which lead to poverty, which causes depression. Discouragement replaces delights, in middle class families. The ones who were barely hanging on, now, haven't the strength, or anything left to hold on to. Being homeless used to just be the lowly ones, now affluent business men and women join the ranks with the forgotten.

Stress, marital discords, addictions, and sicknesses are at an all time high.

Relationships are struggling, families are falling apart, porn is on the rise, while churches are forced to close their doors due to lack of funding.
One out of every 5 Americans is on some sort of government assistance.

Beautiful One, in times such as these, sometimes its so easy to forget to do one simple thing-just believe!

In times such as these where CNN, and Fox daily feed our fears, and Oprah and Joy Baher give way for our tears, just because they say it is so, doesn't mean it is so.

Beautiful One, all these trials mentioned above are enough to make anyone want to give up. But have you forgotten that what is impossible for man, shall be possible for God?

Have we forgotten that all things are possible for those who believe? (Mark 9:23NIV)

Its so easy to do, one day you wake up and realize that the little crinkle above your eye, was caused by worry. Worrying about how your going to make it, where will the money come from? Worrying about our health care, worrying about raising our children as a single parent, or any kind of parent. Worry worry, worry, the list goes on and on.

But the good news is we are not left here to be victims of circumstance. No, we have much more value than to be just another stockpile in the statistics. We are children of the most high God, and if the earth belongs to our Father, and we are his children, than what the heck are we worried about?

Has He not been faithful thus far? Is He just the provider and healer of yesterday when life was comfortable? Or was He waiting for everything to fall apart to really abandon us?

Beautiful One, it is time to believe. Forget about all of your good works right now and remember that 'without faith it is impossible to please God." (Hebrews 11:6NIV)

The Bible is very clear, it is faith in what God says that pleases him. Regardless of what others say, or even what you say.

My youngest son likes to do his laundry at night before bedtime. Usually, he goes to bed before the clothes are put in the dryer. I assure him every time, that when I get up for work, I will put his clothes in the dryer. But for some reason my son, reminds me three times a night to do this. I have never forgotten, or failed in this task, and yet he doubts me or has fear that I wont come through.

I will be honest, it hurts me at times. I as his mother want clean, dry clothes for him more than he does. It is bothersome that he continuously doubts my ability to remember him.

Beautiful One, sometimes this how we treat God. We know God is capable, He hasn't failed us yet, but still, our unbelief peeks through as we try to help him along.

Abram went through this very thing. Abram was waiting on a promise God made to him, and while waiting got himself into some trouble by listening to his impatient wife. Abram believed God, but tried to help God along. Even still, Gods promise came to pass in Abrams life, regardless of how foolish his choices were.
God was pleased with his faith and said he was righteous because of it. Faith in what God says will always trump over our actions.

Faith is a heart issue. And genuine, unwavering faith will cause our actions to align with it.

God is going to remain faithful, even when life is not friendly to us. When things are seemingly falling apart around us, God will remain unwavering in his affection for us, and unchanging in His ways. What God has decreed over us, will come to pass! He is a Sovereign God!

It is time to believe again. Believe that something better is coming, believe that what you see right now is temporary. Believe in the invisible, because if you can see the invisible, you will surely do the impossible!

And may God receive all the glory that is due him!

Beautiful One, just believe, because God said so!
