Left home the other day
couldn't take it anymore,
heard it all
from mom & dad
fighting and boozing
and the cost of raising kids.
Put out his thumb
early Tuesday night, the first
ride taking him forty miles
from what
was once home.
Now the cops are looking
parents worried,
a children's aid worker
busy phoning around
asking
if you see this kid, tall
for his age
only thirteen, call me.
