to our home in the
country it came from
mourning doves, murmuring
sounds as sad vibrations
from a solitary
tree, barkless, once
claimed for an eagle's favourite
perch, ravaged from seasons
of duress, strengthened in will to
serve, now a habitat for
grieving friends.
