"Don't let him push you around; defend yourself!" Bullies are nothing new; they just draw more media attention and notoriety. Most are compelled by feelings of grandeur, power and dominance over the weak and vulnerable. They rarely approach someone of their own size or willing to stand up to them. It is no laughing matter and yet the plot for many sitcoms. Poor little "Beaver" Cleaver took boxing lessons from his father to learn the basics of self-defense. Ward, the loving Dad was unaware the perpetrator wore pigtails!
We are in this fight together; we do not need to hide from the bully or take his attacks. "But you must resist the devil and stay strong in your faith. You know that all over the world the Lord's followers are suffering just as you are. But God shows undeserved kindness to everyone. That's why he appointed Christ Jesus to choose you to share in his eternal glory. You will suffer for a while, but God will make you complete, steady, strong, and firm. God will be in control forever! Amen (1Peter 5:9-11 CEV)." It's not shadow boxing; the enemy is real and faith is the weapon for victory!
