His little boy is a gift, as mother
robin protects her nest
within
the framework of the forest
so does a man for his son, a tyke
comfortably nestled
in daddy's arms, coughing
fit at rest.
See the sculptured nose
floppy ears, high cheekbones
a brow like daddy's own
life is about love, tenderness
from a father for his child.
Since a baby robin adapts
to Nature, so too will this boy
become
older, wiser, a man
and one day gaze
upon his own dear son, like
the gift he once was.
