I am not afraid of the dark at night; I simply prefer light. Old habits are hard to break; my Dad always kept a hallway light burning at the top of the stairs by my bedroom. I now keep a table teapot lamp on during the night to light my way to the bathroom. If I need to go out to the kitchen the dim light over the stove guides my way. I have been away from home and in total darkness in my sleeping area and found it unsettling.
Leave the nightlight on "On that day there will be no light; the sunlight and moonlight will diminish. It will be a day known [only] to Yahweh, without day or night, but there will be light at evening (Zechariah 14:6-7 HCS)." Is your light solar powered? The light of the SON shines bright and clouds will never overshadow it. "The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, because God's glory illuminates it, and its lamp is the Lamb (Revelation 21:23 HCS)." I want the Son in my eyes!
