The arrival of a new baby is exciting news. Friends offer congratulations and voice a classic question, "Do you want a boy or a girl?" Times have changed since I birthed my babes in 1968 and 1971; most parents currently know the sex at an early stage of pregnancy due to advancements in sonograms. My sincere reply to the casual question included a common but not trite phrase. "It does not matter; we just want a healthy baby."

Proud parents send birth announcements to announce the blessed event and joy abounds. Temptation does not send formal announcements yet it does make special deliveries. "But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death (James 1:14-15 NKJ)." Imagine God placing a black wreath upon the door to a sinner's heart; angels weep.
