I have never been an athletic person and I am not interested in sports, yet I do have a slight fascination with tennis. There is beauty in the movement of a well-trained woman or man swiftly moving back and forth across a tennis court as they reach for a ball just out of reach of their extended arm. Hitting the ball is only part of the competition; winners must have a powerful well-aimed serve as well.
How's your serve? "But it should not be that way with you. Whoever wants to be your leader must be your servant. Whoever wants to be first must serve the rest of you like a slave. Follow my example: Even the Son of Man did not come for people to serve him. He came to serve others and to give his life to save many people (Mark 10:43-45 ERV)." Improve your serve as you reach out a helping hand to others.
