Birthstone jewelry is a nice gift for girls and women; many mothers give their baby daughters birthstone earrings or bracelets. The girl has no idea what the excitement is all about but mommy knows the jewels are a way of celebrating the birth of their adorable baby. In the past, many parents even chose rare stones as names: Pearl, Opal, Ruby and Jewel top the list. Throughout the life of those named, they bear the honor of a rare precious gem.
Honored Royalty proudly wears jewel-studded crowns at formal occasions and pageant winners balance their tiara crown atop their heads. God's flock has a sparkling place of glory. "And the Lord their God shall save them in that day as the flock of his people; for they shall be as the stones of a crown, lifted us as an ensign upon his land (Zechariah 9:16 KJV)." I was born in the month of May and Emerald is my birthstone; I rejoice in sharing the name Jewel with God's adorned children.
