CAN YOU REALLY HELP YOURSELF?

There was a woman who had two hens. She was rearing them in a cage behind her house.

The time had come for the hens to start laying eggs but a certain man would always check in the night (while the owner must have slept) and steal any egg he could found. Each morning the woman goes to the cage to check for eggs and found none she will say: "I know someone is stealing my eggs but God will fight for me". She continued like this for several weeks until one morning the woman got very angry and started raining curses on the anonymous thief. Unknowingly to her, the very day she started with the 'God will fight for me' statement feathers started growing on the man (the thief) and continued until the day she decided to help her self by cursing the thieve.

A feather fell off the man each day the woman cursed him until all the feathers were fully removed.

The woman's resolve to help herself by cursing the thieve only helped the man overcame what could have been a reproach on him and his generations.

Concerning Daniel's prayers, an angel said:
Then he continued, "Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. 13 But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia. 14 Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come."
Daniel 10:12-14.

Perhaps you have been praying for certain thing(s) for several weeks and still have not seen any physical result(s) and you are becoming so restless and really want to take the matters to your own hands because you felt time is of the essence but the truth is you cant help yourself sir. Each time you want to take the short route beware that it could lead no where and will mostly return you back to the starting point where you may need to start all over again.

The reason you have not seen results is not because God is deaf, No! Neither is it that He can not do it, No! But work has started already and maybe all you've got to do is wait a little bit for the finished product. God will never give you 'work-in-progress' goods but will always give you the 'finished' goods because He said He knows how to give good gifts.

Each time it seems your answers are delayed just back the prayer up with praise.

Can you call your friend on the phone and still answer your friend's phone at the same time? You can't call and answer at the same time. Friends you can't help your self.

It can be very annoying when you are speaking with someone on the phone and he/she does not respond- you had paused to ask 'are you with me?' The reason you chose to help yourself may be lack of confidence, confidence that when you call unto God He hears.

The reason why one out of two highly qualified applicants (fighting for the same job) gets it is not luck but God's grace, the other might even be better but the employed got grace. The only thing that will separate you from an unbeliever is your ease at churning out results. You can't tell me your god is better than mine if he (your god) has not blessed you better than me. Please stop struggling, go for the grace.

Fortunately, He's available for everyone that will look unto him (even sinners). Paul speaking in 1 Cor. 15:10 as a man who understood the nought in hard work said;

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of themyet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.

Again, friends go for His grace because you will definitely get stuck without it.
