PASSIONATE FOR CHRIST (The Gospel Missionaries)

11/17/2011 / Christian Living

From across some mighty seas
From across some foreign lands
Came these men with a holy plea
Stretching forth their holy hands

Rejoice for they that have long sat in darkness will see light
Their voices echoe from the mountaintop
The sound of freedom they heard
The waves of change raged over the bridge
"The men that turned the world upside down (right up) are here in our land''

Hell was let loose to stop them
Lo, Heaven in fullness had gone ahead to keep them

They came in the KING's wisdom
To show His way-plant His Kingdom
Lightening up the dark world
Giving life to the dying world
In the pure knowledge of the Lord
To show His life and do His work

With a large heart they have crossed the border
Not for ease, but with a burden
I call them Missionaries

The words of the Lord resound in their spirit,
Yes, the Great Commission
...the matching order
It kept ringing up and up, on and on inside of them

They can't hush out the compelling wave within
"Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation." (Mark 16:15)

These matching orders kept flowing up and on...they can't lie, they can't deny
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; AND YOU WILL BE MY WITNESSES IN JERUSALEM (your home), AND IN ALL JUDEA (your streets and cities) AND SAMARIA (the forsaken and despised places and the people that live their), AND TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH." (ACTS1:8)

These men began from their Jerusalem
To Judea, to Samaria...and they matched out
To not limit God's amazing grace
They stepped out...they reached out
They are Heaven's Emissaries
With holy plea; holy passion

To make known the Divine mysteries
With holy fear; holy peace
Their only meat-Jesus' vision
They stepped into a land
A total strange land to them
...a land they never had been
To preach the God the men had never seen
What they may face they never know
They just love God and they love souls

They leaped in faith, and move by grace
They want to see Christ in every place
Willing to die for Christ
Dying to live for Christ
They stepped into a strange land
Where men have long sat in darkness
To heal them, oh, of their blindness
They came, with the gospel light
Shining the light in full brightness
With Christ's love burning in their hearts

Never ashamed of the gospel,
It is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes: to the Jew first, then to the Gentiles

Bold men. Holy men. Lowly men. Loving men.
Full of faith. Where is fear?
They have compassion; they care
They do not shut the bowels of their mercies
They delight to share with others God's blessings
They are touched by the afflictions of men

They love Jesus
They love men
They serve Him so zealous
They take the souls of men so serious
To please Jesus they long for
To please Jesus they live for
To free men, to make them free
With the POWERFUL weapon of the Gospel
To free them from ancient slavery
And turn them into God's people
Oh, I'm moved by this bravery

What was propelling these men so?
It's not the fame, it's not the gain
It was the tears of Christ on the cross-His pains
It was Christ's love poured abroad in their hearts
It was the living joy unspeakable of the Lord springing up deep in their souls

I'm challenged by these men!
I'm encouraged by these men!
They left father, they left mother
They left sister, they left brother
They left their honors of men never bothered
And plunged deep into Jesus' Vision
With such a passion that can't be quenched
I'm challenged by these crucified men!
But much more, I'm encouraged by their unreserved service
It's a living and acceptable sacrifice

They gave up all
All for the Lord
God's Spirit kept them comforted
They did not shrink back for shipwreck
They did not give up when confronted
They did not turn from the narrow track
Before them were fiery swords
Yet for love they matched onward
They know they have the sharper Sword
Which is alive; God's Living Word

They did not pamper their lives
They knew that he that will save his life will lose it
But he that loses his life for Christ will find it

They knew the just shall live by faith
In weary days, they still won't faint
They toiled all day and matched on thorns
Ready to die for what they believed
They loved the Word and gave their lives
To do God's will was their breathe
They loved the Lord and spilled their blood
On eternal life they laid strong hold

They roamed about like men that lost their mind
Their love for Christ they couldn't hide
It kept them restless and relentless
It kept them aflame to pray in the secret
And lifting His Name down the street

They lacked shelter and slept under rain
They lacked sweater and walked under cold
For the elect's sake they endured the pain
And dwelt in tents, for the glory told
They ate the food the never tasted
They did it that souls may not be wasted
They that win souls are wise indeed
They become all things for all men
They never moved from standing on God's promise
They rather die than compromise

Is the passion for soul-winning going down?
I pledge to go wherever I'm sent of Christ
I pledge to send His saving Gospel Light
To be a faithful ambassador till the end
To occupy till He comes
For this cause I was born again
Oh Spirit, fall on me like rain
Baptize me with your fresh passion
Let it burn like fire...let it just burn like fire
That I may run with my Jesus' vision
I pledge to extend to others what You did in me
I pledge not to frustrate your grace in me
I pledge to be fruitful and faithful to the end
So help me Holy Spirit
Cause me to love You beyond boundaries
Let me be your trusted missionaries

To the gospel missionaries around the world, especially those that brought the gospel to Africa, and died in Africa, I dedicate this piece, and the hymn title attached below which the Spirit of God put in me on 11/11/11.

Come into Africa help us
Come that our chains my be broken
Come that our eyes may be opened
We need not sleep, we need not wait
We shall be saved, we have the faith
Bring us Jesus to change our state

Behold Africa call for help
Come over into Africa
Come and help us, the night draws near
Come to us, bring the gospel light
We want to know the Saving Christ
Who gave His life on the old tree
Bring Him over to set us free

Come into Africa help us
Come for we've long sat in darkness
We repent in ashes and dust
We need God's Light in His brightness
We need His true revelation
Send us Jesus for salvation

Come into Africa help us
Come bring the KING in His wisdom
Come bring the key to our freedom
Deep down our soul cries to be free
See before you an opened door
Come make us know God is so real
