Senseless Sorrow
by Pam Ford Davis 4/09/2012 / Devotionals
Grieving is a natural emotion, as we work through sorrow following the loss of a loved one. We should never bottle up our feelings in denial; instead, we should face the reality of death. It is senseless to ignore sorrow.
There is also the reality of "senseless sorrow." Jesus had conquered death, yet his followers cowered in fear and continued to grieve. (Mark 16:9-13). They could not believe their Lord had risen from the dead.
Jesus confronted them about their unbelief. "Later He appeared to the Eleven themselves as they were reclining at the table. He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who saw Him after He had been resurrected (Luke 16:14 HCS)."
