True Happiness

Friends, true long lasting happiness can only be found in God's Presence and delighting in His Creation. One does not need money to enjoy His free gifts. I am in my bedroom, the blinds are up and silver clouds streak across blue skies. Two beautiful large cockatoos sailed past and the sun is bright and its light slowly spreads across my bedspread heading towards me.

"I'm coming back to the heart of worship and it's all about You, it's all about You.." they sing - oh how amazing is the peace that God alone can give.

Friends please be encouraged to spend time alone with God, especially in the morning basking in the sun and reading the Word or maybe hearing a Sermon online or meditating on a Psalm. Write a devotional or message to uplift you and share with others. Hear pleasant and soothing music about God and enjoy the pleasures of little things that cannot be achieved with riches and things of this world.

During the day, if you feel pressured, please take a break and step into His Grace and mercy that is all around. Talk to Him, sing to Him, hold onto a word of Scripture for e.g. "You will keep Him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You (Is 26"3 NKJV). Walk away from people who are filled with negativity and if it's not possible, turn your mind from them onto the things of God.

When I was young, I lived with an extended family and my parents did not have a lot of money. We would have bread and butter and a small banana with a cup of tea for breakfast. Sometimes, we would only have bread and butter and still love to have it. We used to call it 'Hard bread' for it was a hard round disc and it was so tasty with butter. We would sit around the table and dunk into hot tea and enjoy. I did that this morning with a French bread stick. Have you tried it? If not, please give it a go.

God taught me how to be happy with little things as a child and is showing me how to do the same now. I've had my share of wealth and a good life but they have lost its attractions. God has shown me how delightful it is to enjoy the simple things of life.

Friends, what is God calling you to do today? Are you also unhappy with your life? Have you searched and searched for happiness, bought heaps of things and still unsatisfied? You look around and the beauty you see in material things are just like false idols. You have a marvelous banquet on your table and taken hours to prepare and it looks awesome but again there is a niggling voice saying "Is this all to life?"

I believe God is ready to show you a new way. Please spend time with Him and allow Him to change you and teach you the joys of simplicity and true beauty. You will have to let go of things as He leads you and gain heaps through detachment of earthly things. God will sit on the Throne of your life and will be the Ruler of your soul. He will teach you new things and will be with you every step of the way. Oh the joys that await you...

Are you willing to stop and listen to Him? Has He spoken to you through this message? What is His Spirit saying to you? Take a pen and paper and write down as He leads.
