Our daughter, April, was a mama's girl, wanted me in her site, and my undivided attention. The bonding between us was undeniable. She not only felt contented when I held her close, bounced her on my knee, or rocked her; she found happiness at my feet.
We lived in Chicago for a short six months; April learned to both crawl, and walk, in the Windy City. It seems like only yesterday, that my forty plus daughter, laid across my feet, as I stood, before the kitchen sink, washing dishes. We were inseparable.
As Christ followers, we are inseparable from our Savior. "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in me, and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing (John 15:5 RSV)." I cling to the vine.
