On the Front Lines
by Pam Ford Davis 9/04/2012 / Devotionals
Families send loved ones off to war, hoping and praying for their protection and return. Certain phrases send chills down their spines: serving on the front lines, missing in action, and killed in combat. We tend to forget the realities of war until we are personally affected. We also forget the battle between good and evil rages on, and we are all on one side or the other. Are you on active duty at the front lines?
"As a good soldier of Christ Jesus you must endure your share of suffering. Soldiers on duty don't work at outside jobs. They try only to please their commanding officer (2 Timothy 2:3-4 CEV)." God calls us to serve Him on the front lines; we must be faithful volunteers, not missing in action or missing the action. In these perilous times, many in God's army are killed in combat. They give their lives, unwilling to forsake the cause of Christ.
