ACE of WADES

God dealt to me a Card of Blessing many years ago back in time
It set my course to meet the Wades who are the reason for this rhyme.
I met my first Wade in first grade at a place called Ft. Braden School
His name I learned was Ernie and I thought he was really cool!
He always made me laugh and brought good cheer to my soul
A friendship was born with his family I would not trade for all the gold.
Ernie and his four brothers called Edward, Roger, Richard and Joe
It was impossible not to love them once them you got to know!
When it comes to a big heart the Wades have never suffered any lack
Each one of them would quickly give you the shirt right off their back!
I spent many hours with the Wades which was part of God's great plan
I was considered as another son by their parents Ernest and Joan!
We all took good heed and obeyed when we heard Ernest senior call
We had great Respect for a Razor Strap that hung on the kitchen wall!
Joan was a Precious Gift from God and one of our greatest joys
She met the challenge every day of feeding all us hungry boys!
Ernest senior had a unique laugh that could be heard for a city block
When all the Wades were present the Wade humor would really rock!
There is an interesting theory that some have spread as fact in rumor
"That as all Wades are conceived God types in a genetic code for humor!"
The Wade boys were tough as nails running around in winter with no shirt
Their humor often made me laugh so hard that my ribs began to hurt.
I suffered with the Wades when Ernest and Joan went to be with God
We know they walk with Jesus now on that Heavenly path they trod.
My Uncle Charlie Thomas had a Wade Love that made him beam with pride
Annie Wade quickly captured Charlie's heart and became a Thomas Bride!
One day there will be a Wade reunion in that Kingdom beyond the sky
I want to be there to watch Jesus and the angels laugh until they cry!
When I look at my cards of life, God dealt to me a winning hand
A Full House with the ACE of WADES makes life's game really grand!
