Do You Give Thanks?

Do you ever give thanks to the Lord above?
Do you ever give thanks for the ones you love?
Do you ever give thanks that you have good health?
Do you give thanks for what you have in the way of wealth?
Many around the world are suffering hunger in a thirsty place
When you eat and drink do you give thanks by saying grace?
Do you thank God for each sunrise that He lets you see?
Do you ever kneel in prayer and humbly bow your knees?
When you watch your children sleeping peacefully in bed
Do you give thanks they're safe and not lying somewhere dead?
When you pass a Prison with high walls and razor wire so thin
Do you give thanks that you have no loved ones locked within?
When a storm howls at night as you lie snuggled secure in your bed
Do you give thanks for your home and that roof up over your head?
Do you give thanks for that old clunker that gets you from A to B?
Do you give thanks for ears that hear and for eyes that see?
Do you give thanks for friends who are always there for you?
Do you give thanks for hugs/kisses that loved ones give to you?
Do you give thanks for a voice that can sing and talk?
Do you give thanks for legs that can run and walk?
Do you give thanks when your body has no aches and pain?
Do you give thanks for a sound mind that makes you not insane?
Do you give thanks for that job that yields a paycheck each week?
Do you give thanks during times when your future looks bleak?
Do you give thanks for Jesus who shed His blood for you?
Do you give thanks always in everything you do?
As you finish this rhyme and go back to that path you trod
Get down on your knees and offer up thanks to God!
