IDOLS: TO WHOM DO YOU BOW?

God warns us of things that we put before Him
Let's pause for a moment and consider some of them.
On every Sunday morning when Church time comes around
All seek out their Idol and to it they bow down.
Some bow to Jesus Christ the Holy Son of God
Because Jesus gave eternal life and a new path to trod.
Some bow down to their boat and make a divine wish
And worship the water god and pray for a fish!
Some worship Lord Liquor and pray for a thrill
Lord Liquor watches their tithes go into his till.
Some bow to their four-wheeler practicing for the race
Jesus looks for them in Church can't find a trace.
Some bow before their TV and worship the football god
Some bow in the gym and worship their bod.
Some bow at the beach and worship the sea
Some bow at the dress shop and pray "Look at me!"
One man quotes: "The Bible says on Sunday to rest!"
He relaxes in Satan's bosom where he rests the best!
Some bow to there 4x4 because it's a Super Hog &
Pray that it will take them thru that baddest old bog!
Webster says "Idols are anything your totally devoted to!"
It has your heart that's why you do what you do!
Let me ask you a question it goes like this:
"Will you make it to Heaven worshipping a fish?"
If the trooper calls you about your child's untimely death
Will Lord Liquor comfort you as the news takes your breath?
If on your four-wheeler you win the race
Can that save your soul like God's Amazing Grace?
That mighty running back who made the great play
Will he answer your prayers on your darkest day?
The muscles you worship in your arms and your chest
Can you pray to them when a cancers in your breast?
When you are so depressed that you want to die
Will a Dress Shop lift you to God who's on High?
When you stand at God's Judgment to be damned or blessed
Will God remember on whose bosom you did rest?
That old Hog that goes thru that mud so well
Can it keep your soul from sliding into hell?
Some lie "I'm a Christian I love God and pray!"
Never see them in Church their Idol they must obey!
Jesus is waiting patiently at an alter for you
Will you worship Jesus Christ or say "My Idol will do?"
You may have a Special Idol worth more than gold
But when you breathe your last breath can it save your soul?
