Book Review: The Song of Songs the book for daughters" by Michael Ben Zehabe

Being a lifelong student of ancient history, I have many "favorite" ambiguities. Scrolls that are somewhat variegated and complex no matter how many times I read them, or in what language - The Song of Songs {sometimes referred to as The Song of Solomon} is one of them. It is a highly interpretationary writing that has been the topic of many a debate in the realms of rabbinic exegesis.

The particular subject of this review; "The Song of Songs the book for daughters" by Michael Ben Zehabe, is an exhaustive translation to say the least. Viewed strictly as this, it compares in comprehensiveness and insight to any scholarly Targumic work that I have read. Many of which have penners whose names precede the very text itself, and yet do not arrive at the level of acuity that this work ascends to. The added annotations are crisp and thought provoking. The broad and somewhat unique scope of proportion which Mr. Ben Zehabe introduces to the reader, offers a rare perspective that truly enhances the subject in study and brings to it modern relativity

And finally, as a father I appreciate the work as being a worthy connubial presentation. To describe it simply as another allegoric expositive on one of the scrolls of the Megillot would be short changing it in its entirety. Ultimately, this effort is one man's testament of commitment and devotion to God and his family. Thank you, Mr. Ben Zehabe for this admirable contribution.
