I wonder why and when our society rejected reverence and fear of the Lord. People flippantly refer to him as "the man upstairs," and relegate him to a place of insignificance. Heaven help us. He is Almighty God, not the man upstairs. Holy Spirit, bring me under conviction; please put the fear of the Lord in me.
"Everyone on earth should fear and respect the LORD. All the people in the world should fear him, because when he speaks, things happen. And if he says, 'Stop!'-then it stops (Psalm 33:8-9 ERV)." Without reverence, we feel no guilt for our sin. We do not fear a tyrant god; we revere our Holy Father.
