I will never be alone

by hazel moodley
12/30/2012 / Devotionals

This is a reflection from a personal perspective. A simple thought to realign our mindset.

Due to a major life changing event, I developed a simple approach of ' You are born alone and you will die alone' .A truly blunt perspective. Might I add this was a minor setback in my thinking. I should have remembered the promise of God more clearly during this very misguided sting of a statement that is contradictory to God's living word. While at a funeral the priest from another faith made this very statement out loud. He used it as a basis of comfort to the bereaved. His words pierced my spirit. Immediately I knew I was wrong to have adopted this temporary and clouded mindset. I was convicted of this very thought as it stood in complete isolation to the fullness of Gods word.

As children of the kingdom of God, we are never alone. Not at birth, not during life and not even at death. It is easy to know Jesus through our everyday but it is even better to remember him as a constant. We were not just predestined and left alone. We were born while he was present. The Holy Spirit was present at our birth at the very instant we took our first breath and he will remain present to our last physical breath until we are present with the Lord Jesus. No human can possibly grant us this privilege.

To each of you, whatever the circumstances of your birth, whether you were wanted or not, heaven was present. Even through life, in a crowd or not, all of heaven embraces you. Even at death, we will never be alone. We were born to be in the company and presence of an Almighty loving Abba Father forever and ever.

Let us not be loose with our thoughts, ideas, mindsets and intellectual perspectives lest we live as foolish unto God. Heb 13:5 - He will never leave us nor will he forsake us.
