HEADSHIP AND ITS RESPONSIBILITY (Let's Talk Family) Part 2

by James Manning

HEADSHIP AND ITS RESPONSIBILITY (PART 2)

we left off by pointing out the following about kingdom headship

We said that kingdom headship has three levels or ranks, and they are

1. God the Father is the head of Christ (Son and Holy Spirit)
2. Christ is the head of the Church
3. And the husband is the head of the wife.

And that the Responsibility of Headship is,

1. God the Father Loved The World
2. Christ loved the church as the Father loved the world
3. the husband loves his wife as Christ loved the church

The love responsibility is carried out in the following manner,

1. The Father so loved the world that he gave himself through the son
2. The Son so loved the church that he gave himself for her
3. The husband is to love his wife as Christ loved the church by giving himself for her. ( he lives his life to the benefit of his wife).

When people think of Jesus giving himself, they usually think of him going to the cross, but the fact is that, Jesus gave himself before he reached the cross, if he had not given himself before he reached the Cross he would not have made it to the Cross to accomplish what he accomplish through his death on the cross.

Philippians 2:7-8
King James Version (KJV)
7But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

He became obedient unto death, even, even the death of the cross, he dyed before he reached the cross, Jesus died the very moment he put on flesh, he died to who he was befoe he became a man.

Philippians 2:5-8
King James Version (KJV)
5Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

When did Jesus die? He died when he begin to exercise his mind in something other than who he was apart from his bride,

first he exercised his mind in the thought that he was equal with God, but he was willing to abandon all of that for his wife, he had everything but he was willing to become poor that through his poverty his bride might become rich.

If you are going to walk as the head of the wife and household you must love your wife as Christ loved the Church, and gave himself for her,

As the head of your wife you must give yourself for your wife.

Even As
Ephesians 5:22-25
King James Version (KJV)
22Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
23For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
24Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
25Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Notice the words, 'even as' in this text, even as means, in the same manner. In the same manner as Christ is head of the Church, the husband is the head of the wife, and in the same manner as the Church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husband, And even as Christ loved the Church, in the same manner let the husband love his wife by giving himself for her.

Everything that you do should be for the edification of your wife. And keep this in mind, what you do for your wife you are in fact doing for yourself. The moment you stop doing for your wife, you stop doing for yourself. This is the mind and the attitude that you must have as a responsible head.

If you look at the natural process of the physical body you find that all provision for the body comes from the head. Now when we speak of provision we are not talking about earthly provision, but we are talking about life. The body receives its nourishment from the head. And this life or nourishment comes from the word of God, you can not be successful as the head of your wife and remain in ignorance of the word and will of God. The word of God is the will of God.

You may not be skillful enough in the word to take the full responsibility of this right now, but you can help make sure your wife is in a place where she can receive the nourishment that comes only from the word of God, now this is something that every pastor can take note of, because you don't always have to be the hero, but you can humble yourself and not stand in the way of your wife, the local church and keep her from receiving nourishment.

As the head you are love in action

As head of your wife you are love in action, and if you are love in action, then you are God in action.

Do you not know that a big portion of husbands and wives still think that sex is love, and they still believe that having sex is making love.

I don't mean to burst your bubble, but sex is not making love, sex is making babies.

Dogs and cats can have sex but they can not love as Christ loved. Dogs and cats can have sex but they can not express the love of God as a man or woman.

True love satisfies but sex can never satisfy you. In fact the more sex you have the more you want, you have to continue to come back for more because sex can not bring about lasting satisfaction, but love can.

What is love like when is in action?
1 Corinthians 13:4
1 Corinthians 13:4-8
King James Version (KJV)
4Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

The King James Version, use the word Charity, which the word for love, now first Corinthians chapter thirteen is not giving us a definition for love, but it is showing us what love is like when love is in action.

So, husbands as the love of God in action to your wife this is what you are like when activated.

Now bear in mind, you can not give your self for your wife as Christ gave himself for the church and not be like the following,

And I want you to understand that this is the expression of a life that is a cut above all the rest, this is going where no mere man has ever gone before, and only the Holy Spirit can take you there, and he is more than willing to do so,

You suffer long, you want lose heart, you persevere patiently and bravely in enduring misfortunes and troubles. This must be a way life to you. You are like this always because you have entered into the place that you were destine to enter into.

You are kind, you are gentle and not so easily provoked. You are a very mild and soft heart person, and at the same time you are very strong.

You envy not, you are not heated or boiling over with envy, hatred and anger. This is who you are man of God to your wife and household.

You vaunteth not, You are not one to excessively display yourself before others in a boastful manner. You are the kind of man that a good woman does not mind looking up to, and she do with great pride and honor.

You are not puffed up, you are not a man that is inflated with pride, but you walk humbly before the Lord your God and the woman who is your bride for life. And as your sons and daughters behold this, they will want the same, your daughter will seek out a man who will love and honor her as her dad loves and honors her mother, and your sons will see you as their hero, the man that they want to walk after.

You do not behave your self unseemly, you are not a person given to flatter, or one who gives off an unrealistic impression of your self to others. But you are genuine in your actions

You seek not your own, but you do seek the well fare of your lovely wife, it is for her that you live unselfishly.

You are not easily provoked, you are very slow to anger, you are not so easily angered.

You think no evil, you are not sitting around thinking about bad things, for you have the mind of Christ.

You rejoice not in iniquity, you are not full of joy and gladness over injustice or unrighteousness.

You rejoice in truth, you are full of joy and gladness whenever truth avails.

You bear all things, as a man of love you will cover a multitude of faults, you will never attempt to pull you self up by point out the faults of others.

You believe all things, you believe and think the best of others.

Hope all things, your expectation is always for the favorable for yourself and others.

Endures all things, when everything else comes to an end, yet you will remain.

You will never fail, because of your life of strength and unselfishness, when all else falls and and lose their place of usefulness, you will stand and man your post, you will never fail and you will always be needed.

As the head of your wife and your household this is who you are, now man your post. With the help of the Holy Spirit you can take your place, and be all that you have been created to be. But you must learn how to depend on the Holy Spirit, get acquainted with him, don't let him be a stranger in your house any longer because he is the key to it all, get before him and stay before him until he brings you into the reality of who you are,
