Grace freely given,
yet, seldom grace we share
with those whom we love
to show them we care.

We hold on to the past,
bitter, bitter old grudges
making ourselves the jury
and their earthly judges.

Forgiving we try,
forgetting takes so much more
to hurtful things said and done
we keep opening the door.

We pick out others faults,
we blame, condemn, criticize
yet, we cannot see the plank
in our very own eyes.

Yes, these are Christian people,
that I am talking about
. . . grace freely given . . .
but not for them ~ to give out!
