IT'S ABOUT MIDNIGHT

"And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him," Matthew 25:6.

The clock of prophecy is ticking fast and the prophetic events pre-indicative of the Second Advent are happening fast. The thoroughness, precision, degree and frequency of their occurrence reveal overwhelmingly that it is about mid-night and a cry will soon be heard: " Behold, the bridegroom cometh". This "cry" is described as "shout" and "trump of God" in I Thessalonians, "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first," II Thessalonians 4:16.
We shall briefly examine some of these end time events that tell us strongly that is is "about midnight".
Re-emergence of the Revived Old Roman Empire and Daniel 2:31 34; Revelation 13:1 8; Dan. 7. This empire witnessed the birth and death of the Messiah and ruled the world at the time. It shall produce the coming world ruler (the antichrist). It has already re-emerged as European Union. It may be interesting to know that of all the emerging regional blocs, Europe is first to produce operational regional currency and president. The president of the European Council in the European Union is Herman Van Rompuy. Rompuy affirmed his belief in a new world order that would be dominated by international organizations that would seek to destroy the last vestiges of nation-states on the face of the globe. He says after his appointment in November 2003, " 2009 is the first year of global governance with the establishment of the G2O in the middle of financial crisis". This speech accentuates how the consciousness of a new world order or global government is rising in Europe and other parts of the world. This new world government shall be Satan driven.
There is upsurge in persecution, there is a growing violence against the church by individuals, families, organizations, other religions, state and now global legislation is becoming unfavourable to the preaching, practice and spread of Christianity. Jesus predicted that persecution of the church shall increase when His coming is close, Matthew 24:9 10.
The current quick move for the adoption of global currency is another strong evidence for the imminent return of Christ. If the International Monetary Fund (IMF) gets its way, the U.S. dollars will be replaced by the "bancor" as the world's reserve currency. "According to a report published in April 13, the IMF would like to adopt a plan of action that would expand the use of SDRs (Special Drawing Rights) to replace the U.S. dollar as the store house of value and eventually create a global currency called the "bancor:.
"Bancor" is the name suggested by John Maynard Keynes, the British economist who headed the World Banking Commission that created IMF during the Breton Woods negotiations, which preceded the United Nations. The new global currency would be issued by a global band.
Whether the above plan works out immediately or an amended version of it works out later, the poing remains that there is an exponential move towards a global currency which might eventually bear the image, mark and number of the beast (Revelation 13:16,17).
Knowledge explosion is another major sign of Christ soon return. "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased," Daniel 12:4. The world has gone digital. Almost all transaction are done via electronic medium. Recently, biometric ATM has been developed which gives cash via finger vein scan. Poland cooperative BPS bank says it is the first in Europe to install a biometric ATM which allows customers to withdraw cash simple with the touch of a finger tip.
All these advancement in business (ATM Card, credit cards, debit card) will be used by the antichrist to control global economic transaction, Revelation 13:16,17).
Mind-reading machine that can convert thoughts into speech has just been invented. Professor Bradley Greger, a bid engineer at Utah University, led the team of researchers, points out that the machine is 90 percent accurate.
What else can be said? Is it the successful mapping of the human genome system or the recent approval by the Federal Aviation Authority to Terrafugia, to manufacture flying cars? What about space explanation and breakthrough in Information and Communication Technology (ICT)? The list of inventions and discoveries is endless. All these go to prove that we are at the very end of the end time.
Wars and rumours of wars shall also indicate the coming of Christ, Matthew 24:6,7. This sign is very obvious. There are wars and escalating threats of war (including nuclear, chemical and biological warfare) around the globe.
The level of worldliness and apostasy (backsliding) in the church today and the degree of false prophets, visioneers, and fake pastors (hirelings) in the church especially Pentecostal churches are indubitable evidence that it is about midnight.
The Spats of moral decadence in the world and the church today are ample signals that it is about midnight.
The share indifference and unresponsive attitude of the believers to overriding evidences from these contemporary events also show that it is about midnight.
The church is dead asleep while the Master advances speedily. The church is sleeping on the challenge these events pose. The church is sleeping on the external and internal invasion from the enemy. The church is sleeping on the backsliding and unbelievers heading to hell. We are sleeping on the politics (leadership tussle) eating up the fabric of our fellowship and the bond of our unity. The church might sleep on the sound of the trumpet, the midnight cry that will call her to marriage with the Bridegroom.
Awake O sleeping waiting virgins for the Bridegroom is close.
