Victim to Victorious
by PamFord Davis
6/04/2013 / Devotionals
Insect bites normally cause temporary itching or stinging. An ant bit me on the palm of my hand this morning; he left his mark but itching is minimal. Some pack a more powerful punch and the victim requires medical treatment. To those with allergies, a sting can be fatal. Some individuals have a phobia about bees and wasps and are deathly afraid of becoming their next victim.
Through Christ, we are no longer victims; instead, we are victorious. "Death is swallowed up in victory. O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?' The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:54b-57 NKJ)."
