Lift Up Your Head for Your God Is A Restorer

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” - John 10:10 

A few years ago I went through something and even though I was okay with the outcome, I was deeply hurt. I felt like several years of my precious life had been wasted. I felt like a failure and a fool and I was angry. Although normal emotions after a divorce I knew that I had to get rid of these emotions and feelings because frankly, that stuff will destroy you if you hold on to it, so I took all those emotions and feelings to the Throne of Grace. My Father God plainly said, “Lift up your head for I am a Restorer. I will restore to you the years that the locust has eaten… and I will heal your wounds”.

The scriptures Joel 2:21-26 and Jeremiah 30:17 were impressed upon my heart, so when He was done speaking, I went and looked up those scriptures on restoration. Oh my gosh, look at what God says. I personalized it since He was talking directly to me – and I want you to do the same because if you are reading this then He is speaking directly to you too: 

"Fear not, Angeline; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great things. I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten… and ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed." - Joel 2:21-26

”For I will restore health unto you Angeline, and I will heal you of your wounds, says the LORD; because they called you an Outcast, saying, Angeline, whom no man will seek after.” - Jeremiah 30:17 

Instantly my tears of sorrow turned to joy and I could do nothing but rejoice and praise my loving Father! Earlier that day in my carnal thinking, all I could see was that I am now middle-aged and no man will want me now, but clearly, God did not and does not see me this way. He has a plan to restore!

In my opinion, restoration is the primary theme in the Bible and is demonstrated throughout God's Word. It’s what we need from the moment we enter the world. It was Jesus’ purpose for coming… to restore mankind back to God.

Restore means:

• to reinstate, re-establish, bring back, return, refurbish, renovate, repair, make amends


• make an end, finish, full, give again, make good, (re-) pay (again), (make) (to) (be at) peace,


• recompense, render, require, make restitution, reward,


• return to its original or usable and functioning condition. 

In all the years I’ve known God I have come to know that He will always do what He says He will do. His Word will NEVER return void. I don't know how He does it, but He does it. The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. (Luke 18:27) Whatever the enemy has tried to take away from you, God wants to restore it and make it better than before. That’s just the kind of Father He is. 

Life happens… we all will be tempted, hurt, wounded, oppressed, depressed and so on at some point in life. However, here is the key… we can complain and remain in the same awful condition or we can praise God and be raised up. Every day we have to make a choice to stand on what God says is true. Lift Up Your Head for Your God Is A Restorer!

God wants you restored spiritually, emotionally and physically. Be encouraged. Place your trust in the Lord. Look to Him only and surrender your life and your future to Him. You too will be able to say that God truly is the God of Restoration.

I pray you will gain the understanding of Christ that will not only bring you the restoration you are seeking but move you further into His plan for your life.
