I've seen my shadow every night
Be lamp behind my head.
It looks the same in broad daylight
Were sun to shine instead.
All my life, year after year,
I see it there in front.
Walk fast or slow, it's always near,
A giant or a runt.
My shadow I don't know, don't talk,
But this occurred to me:
God too is present as I walk.
"Why don't I speak to Thee?"
