God Is Your God - But Is He Your Father

by Irma Green

Galatians 4:1-7 - Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. But when the fullness of the time had come God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons, and because you are sons, God has sent His Son into your hearts, crying out, "Abba, Father!" Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

Romans 8:15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the spirit of adoption by whom we cry out "Abba Father."

"Abba" means "Father" when you say "Abba Father" you are saying, Father, my Father. When you say Abba, you are saying my Father, you are claiming God as your Father, not just your God. But, He is not your Abba Father until He has adopted you into His family.

You are a child of God because he is your creator - but He is not your Father until He adopts you; God is everyone's God, but He is not everyone's Father!!

Ephesians 1:5 - .. . having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ. . .

There is a difference between an adopted child and a foster child. An adopted child is entiled to the inheritance of its adopted parents; a foster child is not entilted to the inheritance of its foster parents. There are many people in the Body of Christ that are not adopted by God - they are still foster children; still a part of the world system. When God adopts you into His family you become a part of the Kingdom of God; you are no longer a part of the world system. When a child is adpoted he/she is taken out of the system and placed solely under the jurisdiction of the adopted family, the system no longer has any say-so over them. Same as when God adopts us, He takes us out of the kingdom of darkness and places us into the Kingdom of light - the kingdom of darkness no longer has dominion over us.

We are in God's will, God has so much willed to us but it is held up in probate, and once we prove that we are legally a child of God all our goods will be released. You have to prove that your "DNA" has changed; you have to prove that the blood of Jesus now runs through your veins. God says "When I see the blood."

The song says, "There is a fountain, filled with blood, drawn from Immanuel's veins, and sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains."

One day I stood under that fountain filled with blood - and now the blood of Jesus flows through my veins!!!

John 1:12 "But as many as received Him, to them he gave the right (power) to become children of God. . . ."

This Scripture tells us plainly that we are not automatically children of God. It says "...gave us the right (power) to become."

God is not going to force you to become His, He gives you the opportulity to become His child by accepting Christ as your Lord and Savior - the "CHOICE" is yours!!
