Have you ever had a "secret pal" or acted out that role yourself? The recollection of gifts from a secret pal recently came to mind. At a Christian childcare facility where I worked, we put this into action. The person who drew my name did an outstanding job of selecting gifts that suited my personality. A Big Bands music CD is a memorable example. I do not use the term secret pal disrespectfully as I refer to a relationship with the Lord.
"But whenever you, follower of mine, pray, you must go to your most private place, shut the door, and pray to your Father in secret, and your Father who sees what is secret will reward you (Matthew 6:6 Williams New Testament)." I confess him as my personal Lord and Savior openly. Yet, we have times alone, that he alone hears my voice and he reveals himself to me. He is sovereign God but also friend. Open your heart to him; he can keep a secret.
