Alone

by Judy Barragan

Do you ever feel absolutely alone? Do you long for companionship and then when someone calls or stops by you act as if everything is ok? Yes is my response to both questions. But how can you feel alone when you are in a more connected than ever techy society? How can you feel alone when you have 2 kids who depend on you every second of every minute of every hour of every day of every week of every month of every year? Yes, this too is possible.

I believe we each have an empty space in our hearts. A space that when we try to fill it with other things, that space can never be permanently filled. I call this empty living. Below are some scriptures that will enlighten you and remind you that you are never, ever alone:

Matthew 4:4
Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'

Romans 8:38-39
38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[k] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 John 4:9
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.

So why do we feel alone. In Isaiah 59:1-3 it says

Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save,
nor his ear too dull to hear.

2
But your iniquities have separated
you from your God;
your sins have hidden his face from you,
so that he will not hear.

3
For your hands are stained with blood,
your fingers with guilt.
Your lips have spoken falsely,
and your tongue mutters wicked things.

So let's repent of our sins and God will forgive our sins and we will be reconciled to Him.

Acts 3:19
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,

2 Corinthians 7:10
Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.

Acts 2:38
Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Hold onto these truths:
1) God is always with you but sin separates you from God.
2) God puts the particular people in your life for a reason, to help you and for you to help them.
3) Read God's word, it will fill you up and remind you that you are not alone.
4) Nothing can ever separate you from God's love for you.
5) Join a bible believing and practicing church.
6) Repent and be baptized; God will forgive you and give you the gift of the Holy Spirit. You will be added to God's family.
7)Persevere in your relationship with God. If you give up what treasure will you receive? Fight for your relationship with God daily by fostering that relationship through prayers, reading the Bible, confessing your sins, repenting continuously and serving others with your God given talents.

Always remember: You are not alone.
