Guilty as Charged
by PamFord Davis
2/12/2014 / Devotionals
"Guilty as charged." The cross-examination and verdict plays in the inner sanctum of my spirit. No one but I hears the voices of conscience, guilt and shame. It is not a schizophrenia disorder. God through his still small voice brings conviction through love. I will not quench his Spirit. I confess my sins towards him and others and receive cleansing of sin and removal of stains of guilt. He stills the voices of self-condemnation. (Romans 8:1) I echo the words of David.
"Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile. When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long. For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah. I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, 'I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest my sin. Selah (Psalm 32:1-5 KJV)."
