Cross-Referencing

Exodus 3:14 (Main Verse)
God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: 'I AM has sent me to you.'"

John 8:58-59 (Cross Referenced Verse)
"I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!" At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds.

I have learned from Exodus 3:14 and John 8:58-59 that Jesus knew He was God even before He came down to the earth. Jesus' words shout to the world that He existed long before man came on the scene. These two verses together let me, again, firmly confirm that Jesus is not only the Son of God, but is, in fact, God Himself. In my life this is important because if He were not God, then my life would be forfeit and I would be living an even bigger lie than I had been before I was born again.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jeremiah 11:11 (Main Verse)
Therefore this is what the LORD says: 'I will bring on them a disaster they cannot escape. Although they cry out to me, I will not listen to them.

Proverbs 1:28 (Cross Referenced Verse)
"Then they will call to me but I will not answer; they will look for me but will not find me.

Job 11:20 (Cross Referenced Verse)
But the eyes of the wicked will fail, and escape will elude them; their hope will become a dying gasp."

In Jeremiah 11:11, I find that God refused to listen to His people because of all they had done to show Him that they didn't need Him. God exclaimed that He would not answer them when they finally decide to cry out to him. In Proverbs 1:28, I learned that God sometimes hides Himself from us because of our refusal to listen to Him when He tells us to do something. In Job 11:20, I further learned that the truly wicked people in the world will not find Him and will lose all hope because He will not answer their plea, which will turn into their last dying gasp of breath they may take in this life, if they don't repent of their sins. I have been in their place at one time gasping for the breath of freedom from my sins, finally giving in to the God who chased me down until I could go no further without Him. Many people are gasping their last breaths, but God will come to them if they finally recognize that His power in the universe could be the power in their lives if they would just give in and stop running.
