Steps of Faith

It looks like a scene from a science fiction movie. You come to the edge of a cliff of a great canyon. Across from you on the other side is your destiny, your needs fulfilled. In the natural it looks impossible for you to cross. In the natural the canyon is deep and that first step will be your last. But by faith you take that first step. You take a step out into the unseen realm of faith and a stone comes up to meet your foot. Every step you take another stone comes up to meet your foot. First your right foot then your left. Over and over again as you walk in faith heading for the other side. This is a vision that I had when God gave me a strategy to take care of some problems that had come up. He told me to step out in faith according to the strategy that He gave me and that He would meet my needs. He did! It was an amazing walk of faith. It didn't matter what I saw in the natural. When time came to take care of them, God handled them all just as I had prayed for. It was amazing!

The stones were not made of round river stones. They were flat stones like granite. The flat stones provide sure footing where round stones can cause your foot to slip. This took me putting my faith into action. If I did not follow the instructions God had given me or if I had doubted that He would provide my needs then this would not have worked. I had to be faithful and diligent in my obedience to allow God to fulfill what He promised to do.

The steps of faith in the vision is how we are to walk in it. For it is a walk not by sight or by what is seen but by what is unseen. The steps of faith has conditions that we must meet for it to come to pass in the natural. We cannot take those steps when we want to or when we feel comfortable doing so or we would never do it. Those steps have to be done when we are led to do so. If you do not step correctly or if you decide to step in your direction instead of the way God is leading then you will fall off of the path. It is steps of obedience in faith.

First you must believe. Then trust God to meet your needs. Philippians 4:19 And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Then you pray for God's help and for Him to give you a strategy to handle your problems. You then prophesy or declare the end result of God answering your prayers and then watch as He performs the impossible in your life! Your steps of faith cannot happen your way. Your steps of faith cannot wait until you figure out how God will fulfill it. Your steps of faith cannot be compromised, changed or altered to satisfy your conditions. It is by the leading and instructions of the Holy Spirit that will require you to step out in faith. Are you ready to be amazed by the awesome power of your God? It will take your steps of faith to bring it about!
