All Things

by Steve Countryman
5/21/2014 / Christian Living

When you take your faith and trust and commit your problems to God in prayer, then He gives you peace and assurance in trade. That is your confirmation. Commit all things to God. "God works all things for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose." All things! In all things give thanks. What peace and assurance we have knowing that in all things God will provide. Giving Him thanks for all things even when you can't "see" the good, He can! God works all things for our good. Knowing then that in all things God is working for our good, He does the same with the bad things too!

Giving God praise and thanks in all things even when they are bad gives Him the opportunity to turn them to good for you and for God to show His love and faithfulness to you. I know that it isn't easy to praise Him "in the storm" of your problems especially when you're busy spending most of your time complaining about them. But doing so will help you change your attitude and show others how great your God really is.

Too often God gets blamed for the "bad things" in our lives when in reality most of them are of our own doing. Sin always carries consequence and so do bad decisions. God is the only hope that we Christians have to get us through them. Sinners have problems too but they have no hope without Christ!

Whenever God is trying to take you to a higher level in Him or take you out of your comfort zone to do something different, attacks will come. That is a form of confirmation that you are doing the will of the Father. For you are not called to be a spectator or a "pew sitter" but to be fully engaged. It is great to know that when attacks come or problems arise that a blessing is waiting for you just around the corner. For God is made strong in your weaknesses!

Luke 10:22 "All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him."

Mark 10:27 Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God."

Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us allhow will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

When a person is very sick, often we have seen God not only heal, comfort and minister to that person but also to their family. The healing that takes place isn't always just the physical but also spiritual, mental and relational healings too. Others are touched through the healing that God brings and they are drawn closer to Him. Families and friends are healed. God the Father is a God of restoration. He restores the body, the mind and the spirit. Who else but God can take a miserable sickness or tragedy and turn it completely around for good? Countless times God has taken what Satan had meant for bad or for destruction and turned it in to good.

Looking at your problems or situations from a "Heavenly" perspective can help you give thanks to God in all things. Only God is worthy of all your praise and thanksgiving!

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

I need all of you God, all of the time, in all of me, in all things!!
