'Congratulations; you are our grand prize winner!' I have never been the winner of anything that grand; yet, the few things I have won made me very happy. The shouts and smiles on the faces of winners of large amounts of money, trips and automobiles say far more about winning than paid testimonials or edited sound bites. Though the winner's elation may be brief, they do experience a time of celebration.
Rejoicing need not be fleeting.
The winner of souls rejoices on a grand scale! "The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who is wise wins souls (Proverbs 11:30 NAS)." The deliverance of a lost soul from sin's bondage gives a witness for Christ cause to shout! Soul winners are fully aware that Jesus alone saves from sin. When fishing for men, we should not despair over the big ones that got away. Instead, may we humbly proclaim, persuade and praise.
