LEN'S LINES --- A Little Religion On A Positive Note By Len Granger
Old Testament Bible Truths
God gave man dominion over all the things on the earth, but he who created the universe is still in control of the Earth. He can cause it to shake, have eruptions, and weather changes and all the physical changes of the Earth. We as God's children are to look to the Lord for his guidance and protection. I recall as a child visiting my mothers sister and family. Her husband, a Quaker, was a well known mining engineer in Colorado and Wyoming and he would show us mountain formations that may have been caused by Noah's flood. The rocks were in layers, first abundant fossils of plants, then layers of sand caused by flooding water, then violent upheavals causing the earth to be raised upward at various angles to make a mountain.
Where do we go to find the truth about what happened some 6,000 years ago when the Earth was created? Is it the Bible, God's Word, the most read book in the world or to what historians have written in our history books? Some say the Bible is full of stories that could not have happened or are too unbelievable to be true. Recently, in Egypt and China great discoveries have been found that prove the Bible, and the Old Testament, is the best history book man will ever find.
We see in Genesis 1:1,2. In the beginning, "God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the water." I have always wondered how long the earth was in this condition and being dark was it cold so that great ice sheets covered parts of the earth and they still are melting today? Did the ice melt quickly in parts of the earth causing Grand Canyons, when light with it's heat was added to the earth? Then God tells about spending 6 days developing the earth to his satisfaction. Day One, Verse 3 to 5 Let there be light, day and night. Day Two, Verse 6 to 8, And God said," Let there be firmament in mist of the waters,------ and God called the firmament Heaven. Day Three, Verse 9 to 13, And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas. ---and the earth brought forth grass and herb---and tree yielding fruit. On the Fourth Day. Verse 14 to 19, And God made two great lights; the greater to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night; and he made the stars. We also see God made the seasons, days and years. On the Fifth Day, Verse 20 to 23, And God blessed them, saying Be Fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth." And on the Sixth Day, Verse 24 to 31. --Let the earth bring forth the living creatures after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth --. ---Let us make man in our image, after our likeness---and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, the fowl of the air, and over all the earth, and every thing that creepth on the earth. God made man with an Eternal Soul and gave him learning ability to have control over the earth. Some people say we came from the Cave Man, but history says they only learned to harness fire for cooking, hunt with spears and made small trinkets. They were more Ape in nature and not in the image of God, so do not believe they were our kind, as the world would like us to accept.
Remember the great flood that covered the earth in Noah's time and only his family and the animals on the Ark were saved, while all the creatures on the earth were totally destroyed? This worldwide flood also wiped out the large beast of the earth, dinosaursand so called caveman no longer are mentioned. Many have said this was just a local flood since the Pyramids of Egypt were not effected by the flood waters. Well Noah had three sons in Genesis 6:10" And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth." We see they were scattered in Genesis 10:32."These are the families of Noah, after their generations, in their nations, and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood." The rebellion at the Tower of Babel brought judgment on all the family lines. Noah's grandson Mizraim founded Egypt in 2188, a date consistent with both Biblical and secular records. The Egyptians, the Sumerians, and the Mayans all retained the technology to build pyramids, designing the first pyramid for the third dynasty pharaoh Zoser. The Pyramids we see from discovered Egyptian records were built after the great worldly flood. We read were China says they date back some 5,000 years to the time of the caveman. Then there is a big history gap, until Noah's son Japheth appears in the records and also the first Shang Dynasty 1788-1846 BC . They lived along the Yellow River and the earth still had large pools of water which they drained, according to the Chinese story that tells of Noah's flood and the dove.
We also see where when the Egyptian ruler would not let the Jewish people leave and Moses tells him that all the first born will die, well a cemetery of that time period has been discovered and is filled with young children. Exodus 11:5, "And all the first born in the land of Egypt shall die, from the first born of the Pharaoh that sitteth on his throne -----."
The Great Pyramid of Giza, built for Pharaoh Khufu of the fourth dynasty, is the largest and most accurately constructed building in the world. This pyramid required advance optical, surveying, mathematical, and construction techniques a great improvement from earlier pyramids. About three centuries after the flood, Abrams's visit to Egypt with his advanced knowledge was believed to have allowed the Jewish captives to finish the Pyramid before they left Egypt and cross the Red Sea. God parting the Red Sea for Moses and then drowning the Egyptian army some say could not have happened. However, the body of the Pharaoh Khufu, has never been found and the tomb he prepared lies empty, as it is believed he drowned with his men in the Red Sea. Also his son who died in the 10th plague, Death of the First Born. Exodux,11:5 did not use the tomb.
Everyday, historical records continue to be found that prove the Bible stories are true. If we as sinners only put our Hope, Trust, and Faith in our gracious and loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and repent of our sins, our loving Lord will open his arms and accept us. Now I see why Egypt is always there to help the Jewish people as they are closely related from back in the Old Testament of the Bible.
Trust we will be in the church of our choice this Sunday worshiping our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
God Bless America
