I Count to Five

I travel to Thanksgiving past and enter my second childhood. In one classroom project, we used pine-cones and construction paper to make turkeys; favorite colors of paper made perfect feathers. The most memorable art project was simplistic but made sensational refrigerator door decor.

First, the teacher instructed us to spread our fingers apart; next, we traced our hands onto brown construction paper. Classmates transformed the traced thumbs into heads of turkeys. We completed our turkeys by using crayons to create turkey feathers from the other four fingers.

Today, as I gaze on my aging hand I count to five

THANK

LORD, I thank You.
