It's You and I. It's me and You.
And none should come between.
Sounds nice to say, but hard to do
With words not what they mean.
It's not false gods that turned my heart
And lured me far away.
It's what seemed good that tore apart;
Set me adrift that day.
That's what I did, and now I know
I've drifted far, that's true.
I chose for me an earthly goal
In place of loving You.
