Rescue Mission

The majority of our nation's population never enters through the doors of a Rescue Mission; yet, multitudes turn to these inner-city ministries for shelter, food and clothing. Many seek help in overcoming addictions. Some, to their surprise, receive transformation through Christ Jesus.

Jesus lived his life on mission for his heavenly Father. He fulfilled that mission, rescuing men women and children from the bondage to sin.

"And Jesus said unto him, 'This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost (Luke 19:9-10 KJV)."

Ashamedly I admit my tendency to keep myself at arm's length of typical occupants of Rescue Missions. Many have a foul odor because they do not bathe and reek of alcohol. Jesus did not distance himself; he cast out demons. [Mark 5:1-20]

"And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid (Mark 5:15 KJV)."
