God is in perfect control of His creation and your life

by Michael Hume
3/09/2015 / Christian Living

God said to Job "Can you send forth lightnings that they may go?" Job 38:35. God sends lightning and directs it precisely to a point on the ground to a micro-millimetre of where He wants it.

God continues "Who can count the clouds by wisdom, or tip the water jars of the heavens?" Job 38:37. God knows in detail how many clouds there ever were on earth and how many there will be. He has extremely accurate knowledge of each rain drop, its exact diameter, its weight, and purpose.

It seems that God was drawing Job out of His trial by taking his mind off himself and putting it on His works. God was giving Job a unique education showing deep truths about His works. After showing Job just how God is in things, how He made them and how fully He is in control, He could have said to Job, "Do you not think that I am also in control of your life?" Job would have to reply, "Of course you are."

"He upholds all things by His power." Hebrews 1"3
Jesus said "Even the very hairs of your head are all numbered." God is in control of nature, has made it, and also of us, who He knows in great detail.

"Even before a word is on my tongue, behold you know it all." Proverbs 139:4 God knows what I am going to say before I do.
Samuel spoke to Saul about future events because God was showing Him what He already saw. They happened. Jesus told Peter to go fishing and the first fish he would catch would have a coin, and it happened that way. God knows the future and is in control of the future as well as the present.

"There is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." Proverbs 18:24. The Holy Spirit is within us and therefore closer than a brother who can only sometimes be nearby. Jesus is always with us. He can see us all the time. He never abandons us as long as we seek him and stay near him.

God said to Abram, "Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs where they will be enslaved and oppressed four hundred years." Genesis 15:13. That is how it turned out. God knows the future hundreds, thousands and billions of years in advance. He knows when a trial starts and ends and knows the purpose.
