Knocking on The Door

The darkness overtakes me. My heart feels empty. Am I alone? You stand in front of me knocking on the door. I am unsure of things so i don't answer. Rain pelts in torrents at my window. The Light you are carrying blinds me.

I am so riddled with Sin. I am incapable of being loved. Though you tell me "I love You" I don't hear you. You knock again. I still tell you no thanks, and still you love me. I am being a stubborn person afraid to let go of the hurts of the past. You say "trust me and i will comfort you". I am unworthy.


You knock again, this time I answer "come in".
The light you are carrying surrounds me its radiance fills every crevice of my heart. I am overwhelmed. I feel a peace and joy that have never been felt before. You make your home in me. I feel alive.

My name is Scott McKenzie. I am 45 years old and live in assisted living. I teach residents there about the Bible and sharing the love of Christ with them and others as well. As a Christian with a heart for God, I am sharing Jesus.
