Passed Away

News travels fast. When we hear that a family member, friend or acquaintance has died we pass along the sad news of their passing away. It has a definite connotation of finality. They have passed from physical life into eternity; they have gone away and they will not return.

I am in awe over a scripture passage. Jesus sheds his light on passing away.

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live (John 5:24-25 KJV)."
